Brief description: New West is very pleased to invite Mohamed Ali for an artistic tour in New West. We can find some interesting projects and artists in this creative part of Amsterdam, where you find strong influences from Morocco and Turkey. During the tour Martin Travers will join us during the meetings with some excellent local artists. He is from Ireland and has an interesting international portfolio. He combines artistic quality with social inclusion. Nowadays he does several projects in Amsterdam.
Meeting I Benjamin Benrakad

One of the most talented artists in Amsterdam New West. He is involved in several community projects and is one of the local key artists during the annual Sloterplas Festival in New West. He works in one of the creative centres in New West, the so-called breeding places. Benjamin has a wall close to Mercator Square, where he wants to exchange some artistic skills with Mohammed Ali and work together.

“The father of all youngsters in New West”, a well known figure. He combines participation, social empowerment and inter-generational contacts with paintings in the public space and buildings. He also works as a social worker for youngsters that need extra attention and structure.
