Ghorka Museum Mural

Rebuilding Gorkha, Mural Nepal (2016).
Painted at the Gorkha Museum on the first anniversary of Nepal’s 2015 earthquake, this mural honours the women who led much of the rebuilding effort while many of the region’s men were working abroad. To preserve the character of the site, I retained the colours and textures of the original wall, creating the impression that the mural had always belonged there. The work was painted entirely freehand, without the use of a grid.
